Brighton Place
Nestled in the ‘Old Poway’ neighborhood of Poway, California, is a new housing development aimed at serving low and middle-income families within the region. The project was designed to fit seamlessly into the Old Poway aesthetic while at the same time not adding any additional demand to the municipal water supply; the irrigation system serves the on-site landscaping via an on-site well.
A large, central open-space provides numerous opportunities for recreation, socializing, and leisure for the community’s residents. Included are a children’s play equipment, a rose garden with central art element, multiple shade structures, barbecues, and a community garden with citrus trees. Landscape details were considered carefully to work with the Craftsman aesthetic of the buildings and the north end of the site provides a small pocket park for the enjoyment of the entire community.
